Volunteer Opportunities

Operational Procedures:

The chair of each subcommittee will be a member of the Sports Council’s Steering Committee
The subcommittee chair may recruit members to serve on the subcommittee
Sports Council members may approach the executive director and subcommittee chair to ask to serve on the subcommittee
There is a limit of 10 members allowed to serve on any one subcommittee
Members will serve on the subcommittee for a term of one year
Executive director and subcommittee chair will determine the frequency of subcommittee meetings

Membership and Sponsorship Subcommittee:

Description: Increase membership in the Sports Council, increase sponsor support for events
Responsibilities:
- Develop targets for Sports Council membership, membership upgrades, and event sponsorships
- Make contact with targets
- Maintain contact with new members for the first year to ensure they are getting the benefits of membership

Program Development Subcommittee:

Description: Create value for members
Responsibilities:
- Develop ideas to enhance existing Sports Council events
- Create new events or programs for Sports Council members
- Work with executive director to secure venues and celebrities as needed for events

Evening of Champions Subcommittee:

Description: Increase excitement surrounding the event
Responsibilities:
- Revamp current EOC program format
- Consider changes to award categories
- Develop plan to publicize event
- Increase sponsorship and ticket sales
